PRYMEBLU WIRELESS PTT AND BLUETOOTH ADAPTER FOR KENWOOD TWO WAY RADIOS

The PRYME BLU Adapter allows you to use a compatible wireless Bluetooth headset or other audio accessory with your two-way radio. The PRYME BLU Adapter is compatible with thousands of off the shelf consumer audio accessories and pairs easily, allowing you to operate wirelessly. If you have a Dual Sync Bluetooth headset (we sell them - hint hint) you can pair your Kenwood TK two way radio and your cell phone with same headset so you will never miss a call or a broadcast again... the ultimate in multi tasking.

The Talk button on the PRYME BLU Adapter will function as a Push-to-Talk button for your two-way radio once a wireless audio accessory is successfully paired to the adapter. The PRYMEBLU Adapter is supplied with a rubber Friction Pad. This pad provides additional protection and stability when using the Velcro Fastener to attach the adapter to a radio or other location.

The PRYME BLU Adapter BT-511 allows you to use a compatible wireless Bluetooth headset or other audio accessory with your two-way radio. The PRYME BLU Adapter is compatible with thousands of off the shelf consumer audio accessories and pairs easily, allowing you to operate wirelessly.

The Talk button on the PRYME BLU Adapter BT511 will function as a Push-to-Talk button for your two-way radio once a wireless audio accessory is successfully paired to the adapter. Multifunction Talk Switch Used to place the PRYME BLU Adapter in pairing mode. Once paired with an audio accessory, this switch is used to activate the Push-To-Talk function of the two-way radio.

Once your PRYMEBLU Adapter and wireless Bluetooth headset have been paired together you will be able to monitor received signals that will be heard over your Bluetooth headset’s speaker.  When transmitting, the operator’s voice is picked-up by the microphone in the Bluetooth headset.  The Push-to-Talk can be activated by pressing and holding the Talk button on the PRYME BLU Adapter BT 511 or by the PRYMEBLU Wireless Bluetooth PTT (model BT-PTT, included).

The PRYMEBLU PTT allows you activate your radio's Push-To-Talk function wirelessly. The BT-PTT can be held in the hand, worn on a lanyard, or secured to just about anywhere using the Velcro fastener! Easily attaches to your duty gear, automobile steering wheel, or any convenient location! Requires a paired wireless Bluetooth headset.

The PRYME Wireless transmitter activation (PTT) for your PrymeBLU adapters has a velcro style strap rotates 360 degrees and can be used to mount BT-PTT on steering wheels, Gear shift, Bike Handlebars, machinery, weapons, or many other locations. Strap can also be cut-down for finger or hand use or even in your pocket for clandestine operation. The handy Pryme neck lanyard can be used to hang BT-PTT around your neck or use the loop feature to place BT-PTT with your keys.

The BT PTT includes internal rechargeable battery and compact wall charger.  In normal use the BT-PTT will work for days on a full charge.  Built-in lamp warns of low battery in time for you to recharge. It also has an instant response time. No time delay on activation of PTT.

BT-511 WORKS WITH THESE KENWOOD MODELS:

Works with the Nexedge radios including the NX-200 and NX-300. The Kenwood multi-pin radios TK-2140, TK-2180, TK-3140, TK-3148, TK-3180, TK-5210, TK-5220, TK-5310, TK-5320, TK-5400 and more. NOTE: Some radios may require reprogramming or modification.

NOTE: The BT-511 is compatible only with Kenwood radios with 4-digit model numbers (example: TK-3180). Radios with 3-digit model numbers (example: TK-290) do not provide enough current to the accessory connector to power the Bluetooth Adapter. Some radios can be modified by a qualified technican to provide power by removing a current-limiting resistor.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For most newer Kenwood and Nexedge radios you must set the following option using the radio's computer programming software: Extended Function > Universal Connector Pin No. 11: HRS Adapter

For older Kenwood radios with 4-digit model numbers (example: TK-3180) that do not have the "HRS Adapter" option available, set the following instead: Extended Function > Universal Connector Pin No. 11: Always 5 V (high)

Some older Kenwood radios with 3-digit model numbers (example: TK-290 or TK-380) have a current-limiting resistor inside the radio. This resistor lowers the power available to accessory devices such as the PRYMEBLU Adapter. Some radios provide as little as 30 mA of current.

In order to provide enough power for the PRYMEBLU Adapter, these radios must be modified and the current-limiting resistor must be replaced with a resistor of a lowervalue, allowing more power to be available to the accessory port.

The PRYMEBLU Adapter requires approximately 80 mA of current at peak draw. Contact your local two-way radio dealer or PRYME technical support in regards to this modification. Modifying your two-way radio may void the warranty, even if the modification is done correctly. PRYME Radio Products is not responsible for any damage or loss which may occur. Modifications should be done by a trained two-way radio technician only.
