Product Description

XTR690SE

WHISTLER RADAR / LASER DETECTOR with VOICE ALERTS and COMPASS

The XTR-690 SE also provides a unique "Signature ID" feature for Ka band radar (RSID) and laser. This feature provides more detailed information about the alert you are receiving, and for laser allows you to lock out false alerts based on the pulse rate! The XTR-690SE also will detect POP mode radar and provides Whistler's Real Voice™ alerts. The XTR-690 SE provides a red text display. A digital compass is also provided.

The Whistler XTR-690 SE also delivers several features that are new to Whistler (other than the Bel/Escort-like performance). These are: a "periscope" alert LED on the top of the unit, opposite the "laser eye", a battery voltage meter, and true VG-2 immunity. Other Whistler detectors employ "VG-2 cloaking", in which the detector shuts itself down when it detects the VG-2.

Whistler XTR-690 Radar Detector - The XTR-690 also offers all of the features you would expect in a high performance detector. It will detect POP mode radar and provides Whistler's Real Voice™ alerts. The XTR-690 provides a blue back-lit text display, identical to the display on other high end XTR series models. A digital compass is also provided.

Whistler's XTR-690SE is a detector that maximizes sensitivity and minimizes falsing. Ka Max Mode gives you improved Ka Band sensitivity. Radar Signature ID displays known Ka gun frequencies to help distinguish threats, and Laser Signature ID does the same by displaying pulses per second of received laser signals. Take advantage of 360-degree coverage for all radar and laser bands, Whistler's patented POP-mode detection, and a wealth of bonus features like a 72-point digital compass and vehicle battery voltmeter.

Whistler XTR-690SE in Ka Norm Mode, Beltronics STi-R, Escort Passport 9500ci vs 34.7Ghz Drone (01:33)
As noted in my review of these new Whistler SE detectors, the performance increases in apparent Ka sensitivity will potentially vary from one model to the next between Ka Norm modes and Ka Max modes. These differences will also vary from one encounter to the next. However I was interested to see how the Whistler SE models, in this particular case the Whistler XTR-690SE would perform in Ka Normal mode, now that I have accumulated enough miles with these new Whistlers in Ka Max mode.Full review of the new Whistler SE detectors:http://www.laserveil.com/whistler/pro-78se/xtr-695se/xtr-690se/
