Kenwood USA rolled out it's new 400 series business radio for 2013. The TK-2400 and TK-3400 two ways come in a 4 or 16 channel model. The 5W 16 channel TK-2402 and TK-3402 VHF and UHF portable radios will follow this new model The big news is the ProTalk TK2400 / TK3400 now have twice the audio output power and improved sound for use in high-noise environments.

The new radios feature a new snap-on audio jack cap for the two pin headset port. Headsets like the KHS-27 D-Ring cost less that $25 and make a great addition to the radio. A new a programmable blue-colored LED for use as a critical indicator has been added along with a slimmer profile compared to previous models.

Protalk TK portables also have an improved spurious TX/RX response and built-in programmable scrambler, with the addition of custom signaling for increased versatility, according to Kenwood. All of the new TK-2400, TK3400, TK-2402 and TK3402 portables come with a full two-year warranty and are ready to use, with antenna, 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery, belt clip and fast charger included in each box.

The new 400 series TK2400 / TK3400 feature wireless cloning and they meet MIL-STD 810 C/D/E/F environmental test specifications, which are used by the US Department of Defense. The radio also meets IP-54/55 standards for water and dust intrusion with it's new snap on cover port. All can be integrated with Fleetsync operation.

With 2 watts of power and coverage for up to 250,000 square feet, 20 floors, or up to 6 miles with the TK 3400 UHF series the TK-3400U4P makes for a great radio. The TK-3400U16P supports 89 pre-stored frequencies. The TK2400 supports 27 pre-stored frequencies with 122 Quiet Talk codes (83 digital). designed for terrific audio performance, featuring enhanced audio. VHF radios work best OUTDOORS, UHF best INDOORS or for mixed use.

These radio's are VOX ready and has a voice inversion scrambler built in. COMPACT DESIGN

FREQUENCY & QT/DQT

The ProTalk® VHF (TK-2400VP) 4 and 16 channel models have 27 pre-stored frequencies while the ProTalk® UHF (TK-3400UP) 4 and 16 channel models have 90. Whichever model you pick, there are 39 QT tones and 168 DQT codes*.

SUPER LOCK
An added convenience: managers can ‘‘Super Lock’’ all user controls (except PTT and volume) to prevent accidental channel changes. 

WIRELESS CLONING
This feature simplifies the setting up of multiple ProTalk® radios for identical functions, eliminating the need to customize individual radios. (Dealer function only)

CALLING ALERT
This is useful for attracting the attention of staff in noisy environments: pressing the Calling Alert key causes an alert tone to be heard from the other radio’s speaker.

INTERNAL VOX/HANDS FREE READY
In many circumstances, workers do not have a free hand to use their radio. VOX (voice-operated transmission) is invaluable for enabling smooth, hands-free communications: the radio itself provides automatic PTT action, while the user simply talks. VOX works with a Kenwood-compatible headset.

TOUGH & WATER RESISTANT
Expertly engineered for rugged work environments, the ProTalk® has been designed to pass industrial drop tests, international IP54/55 water and dust intrusion tests and 11 categories of the U.S. Department of Defense MIL-STD 810 C, D, E, F & G environmental standards tests.

2 WATTS TRANSMIT POWER / RANGE UP to 6 MILES
